The parents of a baby boy are celebrating his arrival after he beat odds of 1 in 30,000 to be born.
Sadie Brittle, who lives in Polesworth, Warwickshire, had an ectopic pregnancy and the baby died. Internal bleeding masked the fact that the baby’s twin, Teddie, was still alive in her womb. It’s known as a heterotopic pregnancy.
Teddie was born at George Eliot Hospital, Nuneaton, weighing 6 lbs 10 oz (3kg).
Lenten practices of giving up pleasures are good reminders that the purpose of life is not pleasure. The purpose of life is to attain to perfect life, all truth and undying ecstatic love – which is the definition of God. In pursuing that goal we find happiness.
